Tronin was the legendary first Sarquil who settled with his people into the desert of Southern Libaterra many generations ago and conquered many resisting natives, including desert elves. He built the city of Vanna which became the centre of the growing Sarquil realm although he failed to keep the desert united because the Sarquil tribes continued to bicker and fight against one another.
He was the first and only male ruler, or Sultan, of the Sarquil tribes until Khalid al-Saif's rise to power after the Battle of Vanna in 1017 AE. Tronin fathered only one child, a daughter, and dictated that only women should rule over the Sarquil. He also prophesied that a great catastrophe would befall the Sarquil tribes if a man should ever sit on the throne of Vanna. Tronin died of old age and was placed into a stone coffin in a grand mausoleum in Vanna known as the Tomb of Tronin. The mausoleum was later expanded to fit in a vast library, and it became the centre of the Sarquil knowledge. The Tronin Desert, which encompasses Southern Libaterra, was named after Tronin.
