The Fire Lizards was a collective name given to a group of thirteen knights led by Sir Cedric Malak who worked for the Provisional Government in the then-Confederacy of Remon during the events of Darkness Within in the Third Age. Their task was to purge Remon from elves and raiders who had been attacking human settlements, and they hoped to use the power of the Dragon Diamond to take over the world. However, their quest for power made them cross paths with Omaroch d'Zarnagon who eventually slew all of them one by one.

Legacy[]
All the Fire Lizards except for Sir Cedric Malak were resurrected into the bodies of dark acolytes by Kareth d'Zarnagon in the Ritual of Malakhia, or the Rite of the Revenant, in 1003 AE in Myridia. The new bodies were somewhat uncomfortable for the resurrected spirits as some of them ended up in elven and dwarven bodies and some realized that they occupied a female body.
Kareth d'Zarnagon renamed these liches as his Prophets and ordered them to keep his son Xerathas d'Zarnagon safe. The twelve Prophets would become the most trusted enforcers of Xerathas after the Cataclysm and help him spread the Grey Cult all over Aison. Kaaf became the new leader of the Prophets at this time, being second only to Xerathas in power.
Ironically the Godslayer whom the Prophets worshipped contained the spirit of Malakhia d'Zarnagon who had been leading the Fire Lizards in the guise of Sir Cedric Malak during the events of Darkness Within.
